Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari

Exterior of the Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari

A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari is a 15th century church, constructed for the Franciscan friars, which took nearly a century to complete. The main altar was not consecrated for 26 years. The Church's measurements are astounding: 100 meters long and 50 meters across. It is home to priceless canvases by Titian and Bellini, as well as the tombs of doges and artists. Below is a 360 panorama of the exterior by Eugene Orlav. Below that is our virtual tour of the church's interior.
