Turkish Sultana's House
Directly east of the Abdar Khana lies the Turkish Sultana's house. The building's courtyard forms the eastern boundary of the Parchisi Court, around which the administrative buildings are clustered. The Turkish Sultana's house features elaborate dado panels and delicately sculpted walls of ornate sandstone, fashioned to make the stone look as though it is wood. It is topped with an unusual stone roof with imitation clay tiles. Widely believed to be the palace of one or both of Akbar's Turkish queens, the building's interior design is that of a pavilion and not a house. Most likely it was a pleasure pavilion built for Akbar to be used in conjunction with the nearby Anoop Talao pool, as is customary in Mughul architecture.
