Jaipur City Palace
The City Palace has been home to the rulers of Jaipur since the first half of the 18th century. The sprawling complex is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughul architecture, with the Mughul emphasis on open public halls leading to private apartments. In its opulence and crafstmanship the City Palace is a tribute to the sheer wealth of the maharajas, as well as an example of their lavish devotion to the arts. Today, most of the complex is open to the public, with the Chandra Mahal serving as the residence of Jaipur's royal family.
